Best Way to Cut SPC Flooring

Cutting SPC flooring correctly is essential to ensure a professional and precise installation.

Here are the best methods and tools for cutting SPC flooring:

Tools You’ll Need:

  • Utility Knife

  • Vinyl Cutter

  • Miter Saw

  • Jigsaw:

  • Tape Measure

  • Straight Edge/Ruler

  • Pencil

  • Protective Gear

Cutting Methods:

1. Scoring and Snapping:

  • Measure and mark the cutting line on the SPC plank using a pencil and a straight edge.
  • Score along the line with a utility knife, applying firm pressure.

  • Bend the plank along the scored line until it snaps.

2. Using a Vinyl Cutter:

  • Measure and mark the cutting line on the SPC plank.

  • Place the plank on the vinyl cutter.

  • Align the marked line with the cutter’s blade and press down to make the cut.

3. Miter Saw:

  • Measure and mark the cutting line.

  • Set the miter saw to the desired angle if making angled cuts.

  • Place the plank on the saw table and align the blade with the mark.

  • Carefully lower the blade to make the cut.

4. Jigsaw:

  • Measure and mark the cutting line.

  • Secure the plank to a workbench to prevent movement.

  • Use a fine-tooth blade for a cleaner cut.

  • Guide the jigsaw along the marked line, applying steady pressure.

The best method to cut SPC flooring depends on the type of cuts you need and the tools you have available.

Scoring and snapping with a utility knife is quick and effective for straight cuts, while a miter saw or jigsaw offers precision for more complex cuts.
